A modern metal band that mixes metalcore with influences from well outside the genre.

Virya was formed in 2023 by guitarist Wojciech Bator and drummer Jakub Dąbrowski, who didn't want to follow established paths. The band set out to break down genre boundaries, combining the ferocity of modern metalcore with influences from far beyond metal. The sound rests on technical precision, raw emotion and a lot of energy. Architects, Tesseract and Twelve Foot Ninja may come to mind, but Virya goes its own way.
The lineup took its final shape when Marek Bienias joined on vocals. His commanding presence and powerful voice took the band to a new level. In 2024 bassist Lubomyr Kosakovsky completed the lineup, adding even more mass and depth to the sound.
The name comes from the idea of positive energy and unbreakable will. For the band it means every concert should be a catharsis, a release of raw power shared between the band and the audience. The music carries the weight of life's hardships and the stubborn belief that rising above them is always possible. No pain, no gain.
