Virya
Band · since 2023The modern metalcore band I co-founded, and where I test what I build.
Virya started in 2023, when drummer Jakub Dąbrowski and I decided not to follow the usual path. Marek Bienias joined on vocals, and Lubomyr Kosakovsky completed the lineup on bass in 2024. I write and play guitar.
The band is also where my software meets real fans first. Everything below runs on CrowdRelay, so a feature has to survive an actual audience before anyone else gets it.

What we built around the music
Virya Signal
An Android app and web signup for shows, QR tickets, merch and rewards. One app, two trust boundaries: fans and crew never share credentials. Built with Tauri 2 and Leptos.
Synesthesia
The album as a place you can enter: an interactive experience in the browser with eleven rooms, built in Godot with a Rust backend.
VIRYA AREA
A signal appears somewhere in the city; fans go there, prove they are on site and claim a limited reward. Exact coordinates never reach the browser.
virya.music
The band site grew into a small platform: shows, releases, merch and the entry point to everything above.
A closer look

How it's built
Signal, Synesthesia and AREA all talk to the same CrowdRelay backend, so fans have one identity across the app, the album and the street game.
- Tauri
- Leptos
- Godot
- Virya Signal: Tauri 2 shell with a Leptos UI, Stronghold-backed credentials and encrypted local state
- Synesthesia: Godot for mobile browsers, a narrow Godot-to-Rust boundary and memory budgets per room
- AREA: GPS samples checked for freshness, accuracy and distance; claims commit atomically with idempotency keys
Writing about Virya
All postsCrowdRelay Autopilot should remember deadlines, not run the band
ViryaOS got useful once I made its automation accountable: deterministic decisions, bounded authority, execution receipts and a single view of the exceptions that need a person.
CrowdRelay Autopilot makes the boring decisions in deterministic Rust
How CrowdRelay Autopilot turns band data into safe, measured actions with deterministic Rust and explicit limits, without putting an LLM in charge.
Synesthesia turns an album into a place you can enter
How I built Synesthesia, a mobile-first Godot experience in the browser where Virya's songs become rooms you reveal by touch.
Virya Signal is one app with two trust boundaries
Fans and staff share one Virya Signal mobile shell, but their credentials, permissions and failure handling are kept separate.
A concert announcement shouldn't be copied five times
One new concert used to mean Bandsintown, Facebook, email, reminders and several chances to forget one of them.
VIRYA AREA, a browser game played in the real world
How I built VIRYA AREA, a location-based browser game on the Virya website, and the backend problems hiding behind "go here and claim a reward".
